Japanese Internment book and poster

I created this poster and book with excerpts from interview transcripts with Japanese who were interned in America during World War II. The paper for both the poster and the book was hand-made, with rice paper carefully fused to the hand-made paper while still wet. This created a seamless effect between the two papers. The book was bound with a Japanese Stab Bind, and both pieces were finished with brush strokes using a large calligraphy brush.
