E-mail marketing

May 1st, 2009

There was a great discussion on LinkedIn about e-mail marketing yesterday and continuing into today. I was the design director at a local company for 2 years, and did e-mail campaigns twice a month to monthly, so I learned a lot about the subject. I think the bottom line is: if your company wants to do e-mail marketing and can afford it, use an e-mail marketing software provider. There are so many hassles with e-mail marketing when trying to send out e-mail campaigns through Outlook, it’s ridonkulous. I prefer Blue Sky Factory myself, but here are a list of e-mail marketing software providers that other designers suggested. And don’t forget about the CAN-SPAM act!

Blue Sky Factory
Campaign Monitor
Constant Contact
My Emma
Mail Chimp

I will recommend using http://ePostMailer.com for all permission based e-mail marketing needs. Its the best free desktop email marketing software I have used so far.
